Some questions and more about us to get you started!

Core Beliefs

Local church

We believe in the local church! Being actively involved in a local church is essential for every Christian because it provides a spiritual family where believers can grow, be encouraged, and hold one another accountable in their walk with Christ. The Bible reminds us, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together…” (Hebrews 10:24–25). In the local church, we worship God corporately, receive sound teaching, and are equipped to serve and reach others with the Gospel.

Even though Revive the City is not an organization tied to any specific church, it’s our hope that our service and mission can equip the local body and believers, and together unify the ultimate evangelistic mission- to see people come to Christ.

Strong Personal Devotion

On top of having a home church to attend, we encourage all volunteers to have a daily and active prayer and devotional life to God, and to be consistent and faithful to this time with God. Matthew 6:6 says, “but when you pray, go into your room shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Jesus here, like in other scriptures, shows us the importance of seeking the Father in prayer, and we beleive that a believer’s faithfulness to a strong devotional life is key to a life successful against the enemies devices, and toward strong and powerful ministry in Christ!

Sin & Salvation

Christ came to liberate us from sin so that we might live in freedom and deepen our relationship with Him. As Romans 6:6-7 reminds us, “We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—for whoever has died has been set free from sin.” Likewise, John 8:36 declares, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

A common misconception in the modern church—whether explicitly taught or merely implied—is that Jesus’ mission was to gather mere “Christ-confessors” rather than committed “Christ-followers.” Yet, Jesus calls us clearly in Luke 9:23: “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

As a ministry, our goal is to foster the growth of genuine followers of Jesus Christ by building a strong foundation rooted in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rather than simply encouraging a confession of His name.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We affirm that the Holy Spirit’s gifts and power continue in the Church today. Scripture states, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes... and be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8) and promises signs like casting out demons, speaking in new tongues, and healing (Mark 16:17-18). Through our ministry, we have seen healing and miracles through prayer and faith in Jesus, all for God’s glory and the good of others. We remain committed to fostering an environment where the Holy Spirit’s power is experienced by all who seek Him.

Mission & Vision

The modern church often faces challenges in clearly defining its mission, direction, and effective equipping in evangelism and outreach. Many times, the encouragement to “invite your friends,” “be a light in your workplace,” or the familiar “you are now entering the mission field” sign at the church exit can feel somewhat general and lack impact. We feel that it’s vitally important for the local church to have a thoughtful and strategic approach to evangelism and outreach.

Our aim is to provide believers with the necessary tools, training, and meaningful opportunities to actively engage in sharing their faith. By doing so, we hope to foster growth, strengthen spiritual development, and ultimately shine as a powerful light within the community and city. Ultimately, we want to shine a light so bright that it impacts campuses and communities all over the world, and we hope to accomplish this in partnership with passionate believers.

Schools & Universities

Campus Refresh

Campus Refreshes are a vital part of our campus ministry, primarily designed for colleges and universities, though adaptable for secondary schools in various forms. During these events, tables are set up outdoors on campus offering free refreshments—food and drinks—alongside Christian bracelets, necklaces, and stickers, creating an inviting space for anyone to stop by.

This time provides an opportunity to connect with students through Christ, share your personal testimony, engage in meaningful spiritual conversations, offer encouragement, and pray for visitors. Campus Refreshes take place regularly throughout the semester and have been shown to be a highly effective way to draw students closer to God.

Campus Events

We love doing events on campuses! This is an excellent opportunity to creatively dream up and thoughtfully execute something both fun and engaging for students, helping to draw them closer to Jesus Christ. These events can take many different forms and vary widely in style. For example, they might be energetic, sporty activities like our Campus Kick-Off events, where students participate in exciting challenges and also have the chance to hear the gospel message. Events such as our Evidence event invite students to explore compelling reasons for their faith and engage in meaningful conversations about Christianity.

Discipleship

We understand the importance of garnering growth in the believer, and as we engage in establishing ministry in schools and colleges, we hope to cultivate deep spiritual growth in those whom we interact with. Establishing on-going meetings in schools and campuses is a goal and great way to cultivate spiritual growth and discussion with students. Through these consistent gatherings, we aim to create a supportive environment where students can explore their faith, ask meaningful questions, and build lasting relationships rooted in shared beliefs. By providing resources, mentorship, and opportunities for service, we seek to empower young believers to develop a strong, vibrant faith that carries them beyond their academic years.

Student Empowerment

As we continue to advance our ministry efforts within school and college campuses, our goal is to provide a diverse range of opportunities that empower students to develop and exercise leadership. We are committed to equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to engage in outreach effectively, cast a compelling vision, and make a meaningful impact on their peers. By fostering leadership roles, we not only nurture their ability to influence others but also support their own spiritual growth and maturity. This holistic approach ensures that students grow both as leaders and as individuals rooted in faith, ready to inspire positive change within their communities.

Neighborhoods & Communities

Establishing a Bible Study

We want to work closely with committed people to create a simple, effective plan to make a positive difference in neighborhoods and communities. A key part of this is helping them start a regular Bible study group that’s easy for others in the area to join. We don’t just help get the study started—we also offer clear guidance and resources to support meaningful and life-changing Bible discussions that encourage and build up everyone involved. On top of that, we focus on ways to help the group grow naturally, get the community involved, and create a friendly space where neighbors feel welcome to connect and grow in their faith.

Unique Events

We help individuals with ideas to create or host unique events that will foster unity in the community and provide open doors to engage with others through faith-filled conversations and invitations to a local Bible study. These events can range from hosting a community yard sale, developing a fun summer event for the community to attend, organizing family-friendly picnics in the park, coordinating volunteer service projects, or planning interactive workshops that encourage personal growth and spiritual reflection. Our goal is to create meaningful environments where people feel welcomed, connected, and inspired to explore their faith together.

Ministry Parnership

Through Revive the City, you will partner with us to make your ministry vision a reality, enabling you to impact as many people as possible with the gospel. Together, we can launch a door-to-door campaign with the help of other connected believers, provide more energy and resources to events, and extend ministry outreach to the community. Additionally, we can organize training workshops for church leaders, coordinate neighborhood prayer walks, and develop outreach programs tailored to youth and families. By working hand-in-hand, we amplify the reach and effectiveness of your ministry efforts, fostering a stronger, more vibrant community of faith.
